Publishing Guidelines

AFRICAN JOURNAL OF INTERNATIONAL ARBITRATION
SUBMISSION POLICY

The African Journal of International Arbitration (AJIA) is a biannual peer reviewed journal and an Africawide forum for discussing the most important current issues on international commercial, investment, construction, energy and maritime arbitration.


The AJIA invites
innovative, original and highquality articles on all aspects of arbitration, by scholars, practitioners, arbitrators, and others interested in arbitration with an international aspect.

All submissions must consist of the complete and final manuscript and must be submitted by the authors themselves. No submission will be accepted by a business development office, or a sponsor acting on behalf of a potential author. No advance decision can be given based on topic proposals or outlines.


Authors retain copyright
of articles. By submitting an article, authors are warranting that they have copyright in or are otherwise entitled to publish the article; and grant AJIA the irrevocable and exclusive licence to reproduce and publish their article in hard copy print and online form.


All decisions remain within the full discretion of the Editorial Board. Manuscripts may be returned to authors with suggestions related to substance and/or style.


When submitting material to AJIA for publication, authors must disclose whether they or their law firm, office or employer were involved in any case or development which forms the focus of the submission.

Format and Style:


1. Authors should submit final versions of full manuscripts (MS Word format). Topic proposals, outlines or drafts are not considered.


2. The front page should include the title of the manuscript, the full name of author(s) and an abstract of about 200 words. (Case notes and book reviews do not need abstracts)
.


3. The first footnote should include a brief biographical note including current affiliation(s) of the author(s). Email address is optional.


4. Heading levels should be clearly indicated.


5. Authors are encouraged to follow the style of
OSCOLA (Oxford Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities).


6. Please do not include a table of contents or numbered paragraphs.


7.
All submissions are limited to 20,000 words.

ajiaeditorialteam@gmail.com.
